Privacy Policy
Short version: in the current version of Agara Ring your health data stays on your phone. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics, and we do not receive your data.
Who we are
The Agara Ring app is provided by Agara Life LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: support@agaralife.com.
What the app handles
- Ring data received over Bluetooth: heart rate, blood-oxygen (SpO₂), heart-rate variability and stress estimates, sleep, steps, activity, battery and ring settings. The ring can also report other wellness estimates; the app stores what the ring sends on your phone even if it does not show every value.
- Your profile if you enter it: name, age, sex, height, weight and goals, used to personalise estimates such as calories.
- Workouts, including a GPS route if you record one and allow location access.
- Settings and preferences for the app.
All of this is stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage. We do not run a server that receives it.
Permissions we ask for, and why
- Bluetooth — to find and talk to your ring. Not used to locate you.
- Notifications — sync and measurement alerts. Optional.
- Location (while using the app) — only to record a workout route. Optional.
- Apple Health / Health Connect — optional. If you allow it, the app writes your activity, sleep, heart-rate and oxygen data there so other apps you choose can use it. You control this in the Health app / Health Connect and can revoke it at any time. We do not use data from Apple Health or Health Connect for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties. The app contains no advertising or tracking software. Files you export from the app go where you send them.
Features that may come later
Optional features such as cloud backup or an AI coach are not part of this version. If we add them, this policy will be updated first, and any feature that sends health data off your phone will ask for your explicit consent before it does.
Security
Your data is protected by your phone's own security (screen lock, encryption, app sandbox). The ring connects to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy. The ring does not currently support a secure pairing passcode, so keep it with you; someone within Bluetooth range could try to connect to it while it is not connected to your phone.
How long we keep data, and deleting it
Data stays on your phone until you remove it. In the app, go to Settings › Privacy › Delete all my data, or uninstall the app. Data you allowed the app to write to Apple Health or Health Connect stays there until you delete it in those apps. See How to delete your data.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your data, access, correction and deletion are done directly in the app. If you are in the EU/UK or California and want to exercise a privacy right, or have a question, email support@agaralife.com.
Children
Agara Ring is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
